Klondike Derby 2009

posted Apr 20, 2009, 8:42 PM by Troop 121
Nine boys and seven adults participated in the Klondike Derby, the annual winter contest that skills boys on their scout skills.  Different stations included: a merit badge identification, first aid, stretcher carry, log saw, lashings, and orientation.  Although the temperature did not move above the freezing mark until late afternoon, all of the boys seemed to be in good spirits for the day.  The boys placed in the top three in the Turkey Shoot (using a slingshot to shoot ice cubes at targets).  Great leadership was shown throughout the day and helped prove how well the boys can work together as a team.
