Clean up trash at Summit Motorsports Park

posted Oct 7, 2011, 7:37 PM by Troop 121
On Sunday, many boys and adults learned the ins and outs of being sanitation workers as they cleaned up a full set of bleachers at the Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio. Over five hours, fourteen boys and seven adults cleaned the bleachers from one entire side of the drag strip. Although it rained most of the time that they were there, the group still had a lot of fun. It was a great learning experience.  Plus, some of the boys learned how to improvise when you run out of needed equipment i.e. bags.  The troop was able to recycle $66 worth of aluminum cans.  One tip from the boys was not to walk on the track because it will make your shoes sticky from the glue on the track.  Also, the boys invented a new sport from the lemon shake-ups: Lemon Baseball.  Troop 121 is proud to have had this fundraising opportunity to help get our boys to Philmont Scout Ranch next summer.
